The objective of the Adult Bible Study Program is to acquaint the participants with an understanding of what the Bible says and its meaning and application to our daily lives. It is our belief that a balanced spirituality requires three important elements: Eucharist, Prayer and Study of the Bible.
Currently there are two sessions per year of approximately nine or ten weeks each. One is held in spring (January to April) and another in fall (September to November). The Bible Study meetings are usually held on Wednesday mornings from 9:30 to 11:00am and are conducted as lectures with question and answer periods. Mel Barror has been the instructor since the program’s beginning in 1997. Participants from neighboring parishes are also welcome to attend these sessions.
Confirmation is a sacrament of Christian commitment and a deepening of our baptismal gifts. It is one of the three Sacraments of initiation. Some Catholics received the first two sacraments, Baptism and Eucharist; however, for one reason or another, they did not receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Adult Confirmation prepares Catholics seeking to complete their initiation through a series of sessions entered on fostering a deeper relationship with Jesus and the Church he founded.

The goal of the Welcoming Catholics Home Ministry is to extend a warm welcome to adult Catholics who have been away from the Church and to provide for the needs of those who are thinking of returning. This important ministry offers six-week sessions two times during the year to provide information informally, without placing any obligation on the interested person. The Parish Vocation Committee recognizes that every Catholic Christian has a unique calling from God for service in the Church by virtue of their Baptism. Some are called to serve as single people, some to the Sacrament of Matrimony and family life, some to ordained ministry as priest or deacon and some to religious life as consecrated brother, sister or nun.
The Committee fosters and promotes vocations through pray, activities, and events which will raise awareness of our need to respond to God’s grace for service. The Parish Vocation Cross is presented to a parishioner or family at one of the weekend Masses and travels from home to home within the parish. The Vocation Committee has planned fundraising events for the benefit of the Vocations Office. We also have hosted seminarians for dinner at the end of their annual retreat.
The committee invites parishioners who have a desire to pray for, study, and work for a deeper understanding of God’s call in each individual’s life. The committee holds periodic meetings which provide orientation based on Church teachings, resources, and suggested activities for individuals and families at St. Clare.
