The Church believes and professes that the Anointing of the Sick is the one sacrament especially intended to strengthen those who are being tried by illness. Like all sacraments,the Anointing of the Sick is a liturgical and communal celebration, and it is very fitting to celebrate it within the context of the Eucharist. In accordance with this, St Clare will administer Anointing of the Sick, to be celebrated after the 11:30am Mass on the 2nd Sunday of each month. Youth 1st grade and older with developmental disabilities are invited to attend this inclusive and spirit-filled faith formation program one Sunday a month. Students, accompanied by their parents and catechists, will focus on preparation to receive their sacraments, sharing fellowship and working on the skills necessary to attend Mass and participate in parish life. There is no cost. All are welcome! Registration forms are available in both the Parish Office and the Faith Formation Office. Come to this month’s talk titled “How can I improve my marriage?" Our Catholic faith has a ton of great practical advice within its marriage theology. If you'd like to improve your marriage, you will enjoy this entertaining and informative talk by Deacon Ken. Deacon Ken’s Faithful Questions adult faith formation seminar series is held the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 7:00pm in Morris Center. There will be snacks and beverages, as well as an intermission. There will also be childcare. Next month’s topic: "What does the Church teach about homosexuality?"

Now that the Christmas season is over, we look forward to 2020 and the new and exciting things the board has planned for the year. We start out our year on January 17 with a potluck of soups, chili’s, salad and desserts. We also look forward to hosting another District Bingo on February 15. More details to come. All Faith Formation families will meet in the church on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm for a Family Vocation Night. There will be no Faith Formation on that week, but this event should be attended by parents and students in lieu of the regular classes.

Wade and the legalization of abortion in the United States. There will be an opportunity after the Rosary to carpool to the Mass of Reparation at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament in Sacramento.

St. Clare has 5 buses going this year! Tickets are $20 and can be purchased in the Parish Office or after weekend Masses in the narthex. Get yours before they sell out! The day starts with Mass at 8:30am, with buses leaving St. Clare at 9:00am. Return time is 6:00pm.

As Catholics, we hold sacred every human life from conception to natural death. Since abortion was legalized in the United States, there have been over 62 million abortions. Today 250 parishioners are going on buses to participate in the Walk for Life in San Francisco to demonstrate our commitment to the protection of the unborn child and the sanctity of every human life. There will be a pro-life Mass at 8:30am this morning before the buses depart, followed by Eucharistic Holy Hour from 9:15 to 10:15am, concluding with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. We invite and encourage all members of the parish to participate in these special events to show our reverence for all human life.
