The Parish Finance Council functions as a consultative body to the pastor. It consists of selected professionals who advise the pastor in the areas of: preparation of the annual operating budget, long-term financial planning, the Diocesan required annual parish financial reports, and the annual and periodic financial reports to the faithful.
The Parish Finance Council ensures that an adequate system of internal controls is in place to guide the Parish in caring for and managing financial resources and temporal goods. The Parish Finance Council observes all policies and procedure outlined in the Parish Financial Handbook as prepared by the Diocese of Sacramento. Parish Pastoral Council
The pastor selects his Parish Pastoral Council and presides over the Council, which serves in an advisory capacity to him. The Parish Pastoral Council assists the pastor in serving the parish community by exploring the needs of the parish and responding appropriately. This is accomplished through prayer, listening and dialogue.
The pastor determines the size and membership of the Council. The Council, together with the pastor, parochial vicar, chairperson and appointed members meet once a month.
Parish Pastoral Council Guidelines were approved and promulgated by Bishop William K. Weigand on November 21, 2005. Contact Ruby Diaz at (916) 715-3087 for more information.
